Give this adrenaline-fueled activity a try safely with lessons that cap group sizes at two participants per instructor. The professionals are patient and can accommodate everyone from first-timers to experienced riders looking to tweak their technique.

If you sign up for a beginner lesson, you’ll spend from 1 to 3 hours learning the basic skills of kiteboarding. Start by setting up and handling the gear, gauge wind conditions and grasp the basics of riding and landing the board with the kite.

Get comfortable with the gear and waves in a short period of time. One-hour courses are private and provide you with your instructor’s full attention. Even if you choose longer lessons, you’ll share your instructor with no more than one other student.

The intermediate course will teach you to better control the kite, to start and stop in the water, and to self-rescue and relaunch. By the end of your 3-hour lesson, you’ll be shocked at how much your confidence and skill have grown.

Advanced lessons are meant to make you into an independent rider. You’ll improve your maneuvering, learn how to ride safely among other kitesurfers, and improve your risk assessment. By the end of the lesson, you’ll be attempting to land your first jumps.

The 3-day “zero to hero” lesson package moves through the different levels over 3 days. Broken into 3-hour sessions, you’ll have time to recover and rest your muscles before tackling the challenges of the next level.
